EXAMPLE ACTIVITY
Joymaker Simulation
Sharpen your craft with a group you have to win over.
Opening experience: 15 minutes or less + feedback
You already facilitate joy. Now practice those crucial opening minutes when people are still in cliques, mildly distracted, and unsure about joining in. Test how you invite participation, introduce an activity, and respond to the group.
Make people want to join
Give a short enrollment talk. Explain what you are inviting people into and why it could be worthwhile. Practice making the invitation clear and appealing.
Lead your opening
Lead a short sequence that encourages connection, psychological safety, joy, or energy. Your peers act like realistically hesitant participants, rather than instantly enthusiastic Joymakers. They will not deliberately sabotage you.
Get feedback on your craft
Hear appreciative feedback on what worked and constructive feedback on what could improve. Examine your speaking, activity design, enrollment, clarity, confidence, and overall leadership.
Your opening can be tender, reflective, playful, energetic, or something entirely your own. Bring an approach you want to explore.

Leadership is a practiced skill, not a theory.
You don't get confident initiating, speaking, connecting or leading by understanding it. You get confident by getting reps — with real people, in a room where it's safe to be bad at first.
Reps you'll actually get
- Reading a room and shifting its energy on the spot
- Framing an activity so it lands clearly
- Enrolling participation from a guarded group
- Speaking and storytelling to captivate people
You don't leave with ideas. You leave with evidence that you can do it.
What attendees actually say on Google

"I almost left within a couple hours because I wasn't as joyful as everyone else. So glad I didn't. Within the first 6 hours of arriving, I felt comfortable and like every part of me was welcome. I came out with a completely new direction in life. My marriage improved, I became much more present, I led my team better."
— Adam, CEO, British Columbia
"We had three days of education on joy: 1. Using physical and cognitive tools to be joyful whenever you choose to be, 2. Bringing joy and regulation to one-on-one conversations, 3. Facilitating group experiences full of meaningful connection."
— Sarah, Manager of Teams, Florida
"I didn't know a single person attending. I had never met Jacque. I was even traveling to a whole new country solo... What I learned about interpersonal joy, intrinsic joy, and taking social risks completely rewired how I show up in life."
— Desiree, Dentist Lead, North Carolina
"I'm a comedian and facilitator in Florida. I attended a joymaker camp in Phoenix Arizona and absolutely loved it. I'll definitely be going back for more. At first I was a little nervous because I didn't know anyone going into it. I left feeling more empowered and ready to spread joy at my events and in my day-to-day life."
— Angela, Community Leader, Florida

We believe in a world where people can generate joy instead of consuming it.
Welcome to the 21st century.
We're glued to our phones, watching life instead of participating in it. We reach for social media, substances, and stuff to feel better—but the joy rarely lasts.
The hit fades. We want more. And the cycle begins again.
The world needs more Joymakers: people who help others shift from consumers of joy to creators of it.
- Passive consumption
- Scrolling through other people's lives
- Watching from the edge of the room
- Performing for likes, not for people
- Active joy creation
- Starting the moment everyone remembers
- Making people feel seen and safe
- Sharing joy so it multiplies
We Joymakers remind people that joy doesn’t have to be bought, swallowed, streamed, or scrolled for. We can generate it ourselves through human connection.
Joymakers believe that everyone has joy inside them—and that joy is medicine that multiplies when we share it.
At camp, you become a Joymaker.
Someone who knows how to bring people, groups, and rooms to life.
You don’t have to be funny, loud, or performative. You just have to be willing to go first.
- To make the invitation.
- To take the social risk.
- To start something.
And to elevate the people around you.

Before you apply
Facilitation Camp is for people who already lead groups and want deliberate practice, not introductory instruction. You should have meaningful experience facilitating workshops, meetings, retreats, communities, classes, or similar experiences and want more range, precision, and live feedback.
No. If you already have meaningful experience leading workshops, meetings, retreats, communities, classes, or other groups, you can apply directly to Facilitation Camp. Previous Joymaker Camp attendance is not required.
Leadership Camp teaches the foundations of Joymaking through a structured curriculum. Facilitation Camp is an advanced practice arena where you repeatedly lead, get feedback, experiment with a different approach, and try again.
You practice reading and shifting group energy, creating psychological safety, inviting stronger participation, speaking with more presence, and turning strangers into a connected group. Then you lead, get feedback, adjust, and run another rep.
You leave with more options when participation is low, the energy drops, or something you try does not land. You practice how to read the room, adjust your approach, recover quickly, and create stronger participation without simply getting louder or pushing harder.
No. Everything is consent-based. You can participate, adapt, observe, or step out at any time. Facilitation Camp does not have a certificate attendance requirement.
No. Facilitation Camp is intentionally a practice intensive rather than a certification program. The value comes from leading, experimenting, getting feedback, adjusting, and trying again.
You book a free Joy Boost call with Jacques. You will look at how you currently lead groups, identify one high-leverage skill to develop, and determine whether Facilitation Camp looks worth your time and money. There is no pressure to enroll.
